Reaching Immortality
The great story mentioned in Puranas is quite known to everyone. The Devatas and the Asuras wanted the Amruth to be immortal. So Lord Vishnu advised them to be together and churn the Milky Ocean of the heavens.
So Mandara mountain was the churner and the rope tied on to it was Vasuki . The Lord resides or rests on the Milky Ocean. The churning began by the both sides. Lot of precious things appeared which were very rare , and were distributed to various deities and Gods. Both went on churning until Amrutha came out.
This story from the purana symbolises our self-unfoldment. A mind full of sattvika thoughts is just like pure milk. Milk cannot survive in union with anything. It never welcomes dirt- it’s sattvika….too pure.
As we churn the milk in any direction, the colour is white alone, never changes. When we churn the mind too in reflection, the mind becomes quieter and quieter. Becomes purified…immediately powers come in our way. The power of seeing the future or watching and knowing of thoughts of others come easily. But never use those powers but need to surrender immediately to the Lord as an offering and proceed- till we attain or taste the Amruth…reaching immortality !
A mind full of sattvika thoughts is pure milk…and Lord resides on this Milky Ocean…churn…churn…let’s keep churning….surrender!??♀
