Krsna bhakti rasa sara varsi rudra anukampaya ~ skanda purana

Being a Vaisnava, if somebody fasts on Lord Siva’s night (Siva Ratri day), by the mercy of him (Lord Siva) who is diving in the ocean of the mellow of devotion to Krsna, one’s devotion to Krsna increases rapidly.

Bhakti, or devotional service, begins by hearing and chanting about Viṣṇu. When we speak of Viṣṇu, we also refer to that which relates to Viṣṇu. In the Śiva Purāṇa, Lord Śiva recommends Viṣṇu worship to be the topmost worship, and that better than Viṣṇu worship is worship of the Vaiṣṇava or anything that is related to Viṣṇu. The fact is explained herein that hearing and chanting about a Vaiṣṇava is as good as hearing and chanting about Viṣṇu.

BHAGAVAD GITA SAYS – If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf , a flower , a fruit , water or milk, I will accept it. So the colour or smell of the flower is not important, it is our bhakti and pure intention, welfare of self and others that matters.

HARE KRISHNA???OM NAMASHIVAYA???

Maha Shivaratri is the most auspicious night. On this night, an explosion of super-conscious energy happens on our planet. It is the day when the Shiva tattv touches the earth. The consciousness, the aura, or the ethereal world, which is always ten inches above the material ground, touches the earth element on the day of Mahashivratri. It is the wedding of the material with the spiritual, and that is the celebration.

Hindu cosmology traces this explosion back to the Big Bang, the moment of the creation of our universe.

In the sacred Hindu text Arunachala Purana, this momentous happening is depicted as the Lord Paramashiva taking the form of an endless shaft of light spanning earth and sky.

Every year, by a fortunate alignment of cosmic forces, a tiny reflection of the same explosion happens on our planet on this night.

It is said that any Meditation, Spiritual practices done on these days has a powerful impact on the mind. Maha Shivaratri is One such Occasion, and comes only Once a Year.
