Being obstinate in seeking HIM ??♀
We are obstinate in many things. We must train ourselves to be obstinate when we worship God, when we contemplate on the all-pervading divine. If we want to develop true bhakti, we have to love nothing but love. Our seers who is soaked in devotion, never gets deviated with mundane pleasures because of their obstinate nature of devotion towards Lord alone.
If we want to develop devotion to God, we have to have a similar obstinacy. The firmness not to give up and settle for anything less is essential. This obstinacy is real Vairagya.
In Kathopanishad, we find the ideal stubborn student in Nachiketa. He Guru Lord Yama, was completely fed up of him, inspite of offering a boon to fulfill any desire, Nachiketa denied to accept it. He only said , “O Guru Yama, keep all these useless things to yourself. I only want to know God, and you have to reveal that to me.”
This Vairagya belongs to Jnana Vairagya and if , by the Guru’s Grace, wisdom is revealed in our heart, even God cannot shake the Vairagya that results.
No matter what happens ,no matter what we gain or lose, no matter what anyone thinks of us, we must remain steadfast in our quest for the Lotus Feet of the Lord.
Obsession is essential in order to obtain God. Through prayers, Satsang , observation and reflection, we must nourish such healthy Vairagya , then only our spiritual goals will soon be within our reach.
